"You're a weird one, Cole," Nia kicks her legs out as she speaks.

"And yet you're still here," Cole replies, pen dancing across the page. "Maybe weird attracts weird."

"Gotta be a bit weird, being a Flesh Eater," Nia replies with a nod. "Dunno how you've done it for so long, even getting all... Wrinkly like that."

"Don't be saying that now," Cole teases. "You might just jinx yourself and end up just like me someday."

Nia thinks for a moment, an ear twitching as she does. "I don't know if I'd mind that too much."

"Oh?" Cole asks.

"Changing... it's not all bad," Nia says after a moment. "So one day being all wrinkly like you might not be all that bad."

Cole's lips quirk upwards into a smile. "I'll keep that in mind, Nia."

To be loved is to be changed, after all. A fact they both know well.
