Early Morning Manhattan
"Yui, have you seen the teapot?"
"Yes, Flora, I brought it out here," Yui called in from the terrace. Keeping her gaze trained on the door, she set the pot down and unstacked the cups and saucers.
Soon enough, Flora emerged, lips pursed and jar in hand.
"I'm sorry, I can't be a very good guest, the way I keep lagging behind. I thought I could at least bring out the sugar cubes...?"
Yui smiled ruefully. "Unfortunately, like you, I don't take sugar with my tea."
Flora wrestled her momentary grimace, too. "That must just be because you're so sweet."
