"I'm tired."

"So sleep."

"That's ridiculous. It's not even midnight yet."

"So don't sleep."

"But I'm tired."

Addam's eyes flick lightly to one side, making unobtrusive observance of the ridiculous (silly) pantomime currently unfolding between the other two occupants of the couch. Their invisible, just-west-of-insane rules only communicable as fragile currency traded one for one, from broad man to petite woman and back again, are very often the only things binding them upright. Talk-tiredness and turning-in times are merely surface-level concerns.

His soft voice, gently intruding to ask, "Shall we watch a movie?" is usually the one sure magical antidote.
