Saying it out loud - the thought of it, anyway - was unsurprisingly just as nerve-wracking as the idea itself. It really didn't bear thinking about - which was the whole problem!

How could someone as strong, and brave, and funny, and wise, and every other thing that was, decidedly, so un-Gala-like (in her mind, after all, our present scenic locale) as Bart choose someone like her?! Of all people!

Gala buried her face in her hands. No, she could never voice this aloud to Bart, because then, being Bart, he would comfort her, and how could she ever even half deserve that...?!
