running around to all the doors

Growing up in nature has made Mirania practically Syrenne's perfect antithesis. She's gentle, soft-spoken, mindful of others, prone to good food rather than good drink, and observant because she wants to be, not because she has to.

Syrenne locks the door good and tight when they're sleeping together, as if a lock on a flimsy wooden door would stop anyone who wants to attack them. Well, maybe it would stop a thief, but neither of them carry anything particularly valuable. Not even mementos.

Mirania wonders, does she do that for anyone else? Does she feel like Mirania needs especial protection?
