People might have discounted Lanz for his status as large, lumbering defender with more muscle than brains with an alarming frequency (and yes, Taion was people, and yes, the comparison between key observable traits was more than cliché), but what they failed to consider in doing so was just how much situational awareness defenders, particularly those of the Heavy Guard class (versus, say, tank-like classes focused moreover on evasion), had - moreso, even, than healers, who scanned their allies for telltale, learned signs of injury and fatigue.
Lanz was always watching. And when not in battle, his eyes were surprisingly soft.
