The way her father spoke was if to himself, as if in narration; Midori knew that he did this for her benefit, since she would not respond in kind. She appreciated this. She understood this.
"It is a festive wind...yes, indeed. But the wind can be dangerous. It can mean the arrival of many interesting things."
Midori thought that she had heard about the winds of change, and that she would watch them with interest.
Change was important.
