It's a bit depressing to think about, that two commanders so young could have so much baggage already haunting them from their pasts, and the people in them.

Maybe that's the point, really, of trying to strike up a friendship bound across whole regions of Aionios. Confiding in someone who doesn't even know the origins of the problems, who'll take you at your word straight off (and then catch you if you're being fishy based solely on how honest you seem) seems like it can only be a good thing.
