Damned If I Do

The very air on Omicron Delta II seems to shimmer with something pallidly unnatural. The landscapes vary wildly, the actual fauna to the flora sparse; caretaker or not, there might just be something about this planet.

Nevertheless, recurring shore leave brings rare committment from the captain, so there goes Spock as well. They end up paying no attention to the "pleasure planet" aspect, Spock via shields as ineffable as usual and Kirk via total distraction more than anything about a promise not to indulge.

They are still testing a theory, in fact. The results are most fascinating...and most enjoyable.
