Think about it.

It's scary, out on a supposition.
A confession takes its time.
While your heels are neatly rearing,
Possibilities start their climb.

nothing battled, nothing won

You have to keep in the thick of it,
Or your fortitude will run out thin.
You can't just stop when you've started,
The most important thing is to begin.

nothing shattered, nothing sore

Holding open a golden egg,
The tides will rush to cover.
Keep spitting it out and coming clean.
Descend now from your hover.

nothing borrowed, nothing bought

Now that we're here, let's make it clear:
I want to know everything about you.
I forgot it then, so I'll say it again:
No hug for a smile if it's not true.

nothing sundered, nothing savored

You don't need to tell me, again, how you used to live in that house.
But if you didn't tell me, I might not know how you wanted me to know.

Even if it's just embarrassment...these things do pass.
We have to let them.
One door shut for another hope to pass in.

nothing squandered, nothing sought

I didn't need to be convinced to love you.
Not a single stitch, cent or seam.
But nothing ventured, nothing gained.
And I do love you more, you know.
