life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness
there's a place i'd like to go, if you'd let me
a place i'd like to take you, if you'd only come along
it's a place i've sole read about, none journeyed
i'm sure it's a place they sing about in songs
the land of people who put junk in their cars
- who put other people in their cars, as a matter of fact!
of people who jog because they're well on and going,
and not just because, well, they've got to get back
folks who know only put locks on what's all-important
and not all the junk that gets fudged up in between
folks with homes bright and, sure, airy-fairy
sans surveillance rooms where all in can be seen
eat something new every night
what's the point in complaining?
make a new friend every day
don't waste, your time's a-waning!
i'm sure i've seen some frolicing in others' business
i'm sure many tell details about which no one cares
this surety, the kind you only get by seeing it
and realizing that we must all share our affairs
in this place, you only need ask
in this place, people are giving
in this place, you needn't a pass
see, we're all here, when we're living
