Poem

Just a silly little thing - but aren't those the most important, in the end?

under the clumsy guise
of being pseudo-wise
here's a piece of advice
you can try on for size
and if being Doc Seussical
makes me sound musical
that's a plus and a bonus
upon me is the onus
to keep an audience
enthralled, entertained
keep all vegetable throwing
plus calme et restrained
if you are attentive
i might build a tent of
played-up old card tricks
hopes and dreamers that wane
to be très poétique
is all that i feign
and now if my musings
i may posthastily tout
you are you, darling
beautiful inside and out
and if you'd ever wanted
to be who you're not
remember that trickery
flame is quite hot
don't fret and don't pout
don't scream and don't shout
for all comes aright
if you let your breath out
come needing and wanting
the answers are there
oh, would that all of the world
were a friend who doth care
