uneclipsed, we speak
Creeping out to lay our shadows, boldly we must go.
the sun, so brilliant to behold each day
doth track its own natural course
and i, so worthy to be held, some say
may act as the sun, and have glory
there are those who would speak with the lord's own tongue; mandate suffering for all to the wills of the one
but i, the sun, reject this shaming
there is no earth that does not breathe
and i, in self-possession, must
determine my own ellipses
that you, in observation, can
continue unobstructed
the moon sees what the sun lets
and the moon labors on
the sun leaves the earth as it must
and continues until dawn
