an elephant's a rabbit, one-hundred percent

communication, aggravation
disappearing over time

a friendship continuously diluting itself
a bond weakened far past its prime

a flash in the pan; an ephemeral shrug
a trivial trapdoor in the hole we've dug

knowing what we know, we try again
hoping what's good isn't gone, and then

i test myself in assessing
just how far we've really come

is it gone and done and finished
or just part, of several, one?
