Poems to Hang on the Wall (Words to Work By)
Chapter 01: For Emily
Chapter 02: Responsibility
When did I forget
Why did I never learn
That people are for lovingAnd being loved
It's crazy, what people will say
When they're left in want of laughing
And laughter, as they say, is the most sonorous sound of all
Be it constant, consonant, fetching, or just plain
LOUD
And raucous, and charming, nonetheless, nonetheless
As people are; and people are the organism that bridges us all together
You wouldn't tell a cell not to share in its essential energies
I'd never tell you not to do what you please and what please you
For integrity is made on self-satisfaction of the noblest kind
So I bow, a quiet knight, and tell you
tell me crazy things
How I'd love to learn to believe you
In reaction, I jump
Quick to the hips of pen agin sword agin bullet
in thought, in word, in deed
I know what I think
− I think what I feel, if I am a kind and just person
I know what I say
− I say what I think, if I am a bold and honest person
I know what I do
− I do what I say, if I am a genuine and mature person
But if I feel afraid, then I do nothing at all
those admirable thoughts which I know now, and those which I have forgotten
I must confess: I am only me
No matter what others may make
So based on what I do...
I may make myself quite a wonderful AND admirable person!
