If I'd gone all out, there wouldn't be an atom left of you.

The number one thing to observe about Mythra, most would argue, is that she doesn't think. Chooses not to. Considers it inconsequential. Doesn't even live in the same or a neighboring zip code as the thought occurrence to maybe hang back a step, take it down a notch, and consider, nay reconsider, that last one?

They believe her full-flung fighting style is the product of carelessness, and that her sarcastic retorts are top-of-mind bad manners, and no more.

It's not that they think Mythra is unintelligent. It's that they think she's dumb.

Well, the bad news is, not only is Mythra not dumb, she's actually extremely intelligent. Scarily so. Preternaturally so. She has perceptions at impossible levels that humans can't hope to perceive. She's on invisible spectrums, washed by radio waves. She's bathed in brittle, substructured ionic light.

Some of these unscaled powers she hasn't awakened to yet. Some of the dimensions are as yet folded behind her ears, tucked into the slightest slender flick of golden hair.

And that's okay. They're all aware of it. They rather expect it. They allow Mythra her youth, in that way, somewhat. They allow Mythra to be a little bit broadly incapable.

The trouble, moreover, is that she...doesn't really care? Doesn't care what it is or might be that she can't, actually, do. Really isn't interested in the petty worries of the humans' social scripts and slow-scale ways of accomplishing things.

God, with Addam, it's so much waiting, and waiting, and waiting. So much walking, and he's far from light on his feet like she is.

No, literally. Mythra knows exactly how much she weighs, down to the centigram. But why should she care? Why should anyone care?

Because it's too much information, for one thing. Mythra's only able to be as quick as she is with as much as she does because she's not handling all of it. She doesn't want to handle all of it. Other Blades, more pious Blades, would quest internally for the bowed head of vowing that they'll become stronger - they must.

Mythra doesn't must. Mythra doesn't do must.

Mythra does could, and maybe, and fickle threats that will certainly come true if they will, if they won't, if they will. Mythra does conditional attacks, absolute capability.

But the one thing Mythra doesn't like is leaving a mess, because that would make extra work for her. Instead, if Mythra's going to do something, she does it full-throttle, bass boosted, treble blasting, all the way. She would - and does - eat and leave no crumbs.

So yeah, if she didn't attempt, in what minor ways she does, to control her powers, to refine them, to target them, to limit them, half of Alrest (or Torna, more like) really would be unceremoniously reduced to unmassive dust.

She knows enough to kill. She knows exactly how. But she tries enough that she doesn't - not by her own unhaloed angelic hand.

Isn't that proof enough that, in whatever immaterial way, she cares?
