sailing in an open boat on the sea
The Paragon is many things - blunt, serious, dedicated, determined, swift, precise - but he is not erratic. Never erratic. Every motion, as calculated as the atoms which compose him. Every unexpected motion is, to Jin, the outcome of and final flash in a perfect storm of anticipation. Though he does not see the world in black and white, he is decisive in his movements of the chess pieces, square to square. You won't know his opinion until he decides you should.
Refinement Kallian may have, but he has never had that much. It scares him, in all truth. That he, a prince, whose life is made up on trying his best to be forthright while corrupt signals surround, telling of the million risks (you must tell the people what they want to hear, but it must not be a lie, but it must not be a whole reality, and you can never say all you feel, until you're called to spill it all), should pale at odds to this perfect knight.
So when he calls for aid, it is a tremendous relief, and something of a thrill, that he is granted it. That Jin's blade becomes a factor at his side.
