Sylvalum has the look of a biome that should be, if not positively frigid, intemperate, powdery and brittle with the crunch of snow and white-camouflaged indigens.

Turns out the continent is less indigen, more xenoform. The ground shifts laterally instead of longitudinally, creating and accepting impressions over boots instead of around and under them.

Quite fortunate that there are no Ghosts to be found, but other creatures seem to bump about - Xe-Doms make their terrifying patrol all along the South Ciel Sandsea, so when the BLADE party sees their shells partially buried, they know to avoid, but the first time a Germivore ambushes them while they're trying to assess a patrol chopper wreck for recovery, Gwin all but scrambles up into Addam's arms with a superhuman (of course) jump, Scooby-Doo style.

"I'd love to carry you, Gwin," Addam shouts, harried, "but this isn't exactly helping our case!"

"It's not my fault, it looked like a plant! Here-" Gwin readies his longsword from atop his muscly perch "-you know my Arts. Let's just...fight this way!"

"GWIN!"

Addam dumps him unceremoniously on the ground and pulls his raygun in front of their bodies for a hasty makeshift parry.

It's a fair point: in Primordia, wildlife behaves fairly bog-normal. Noctilum, there's too much camouflage. Oblivia, any feature at all is something to watch out for.

But in Sylvalum...who's to say? A brave new world, indeed.
