Una, no longer so much Number One as she had been, paused to level her gaze at the consoles behind Spock, the lamps which lit their way down to every surface with more faith than she ever thought she'd put into the junior-grade lieutenants who operated the transporter.
There would be other transporters on other ships. But they wouldn't be the Enterprise's.
Spock's eyebrows were set, finer than they had once been just as she felt herself somewhat worn down.
