sweet sincerity
The common wisdom Mio's heard around, and not only from Gray, is that Triton is really sort of an odd duck. Well, she knows that much from personal experience, but for a Consul, he's really sort of...a misfit.
Not that she'll say there's an inherent cruelty required, but there's a really deep, insidious care that goes into it, for sure. Cap'n Triton couldn't be any more carefree if he tried. It's positively wonderful.
So she's glad he's still here. So very glad that when she sees that unmistakable silhouette again, after that insufferable month, grin already painted but widening when he spies her in return, she can dash up to him, grasp his huge hands in her tiny paws, and say warmly, "I'm so happy to see you, Triton." He just grins, grins, grins...
Then up to tiptoes, a 'kiss' on the cheek - "And I'll see you again tomorrow!"
