Sometimes, they can be straight.
"So, Addam," Lora said, in that way of hers, which I won't describe, because you know it already, and if you don't, you'll just have to assume. "What are you going to do now?"
Addam fussed momentarily with the dented clasp that had held his sword on his back. Then he tossed it aside. "I'm going to go home, and I'm going to kiss my wife on the mouth."
"Ah, of course." Maybe she laughed. I shan't say. "And you, Minoth?"
"Me? Well. I'm going with him."
"Oh, that's sweet. I'm glad you two are happy together."
"Huh? No, no. It's a good thing I didn't say I'm going 'after' him, actually. You see, I intend to get there first."
