Most people who throw their food do so due to the subconscious fear that if they don't, later they may sit on it !
title's long enough to be a note itself but it's from The Odd Couple :>
She'd told Addam a year ago that she doesn't need to eat, not really - just as all Blades can run for longer on just water and snacks and sunlight and sleep than humans ever could, so too will the stubborn Aegis. Maybe it was an excuse to observe humans' dining habits and manners, or an excuse to get out of the whole ordeal of actually being given food, or maybe it was just the truth, and Mythra felt like telling it, but whatever the case, a full year on, she's more enthusiastic about food than she's ever been. Sweets, and meat, and the chemical groove and rage of flavorful substances dissolving in her mouth...yeah, that's what it's all about.
There's the social aspect, too - those things she might have whinged on, early, and still doesn't really relish now. But Haze is sweet, if a little gullible, and she's a vegetarian, so Mythra gets eager to monopolize her away from Lora (and isn't that just too, too easy) as a sharing partner as soon as she catches on - catches wind, even.
"Let's make this quick, Haze," she says, dry and cool but for the last syllable that begs, just begs, to be savored, "so we can go eat snacks together."
(It had been "Make it quick," an imperative, the first time. Almost dictating to herself, the lightsoldat Aegis, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the next necessary and sufficient step for satisfaction of the mould laid out for her unwilling fit. But later, teamwork. Later, a bit of excitement; a lilt on the consequent handily considered, with anticipation, on the antecedent.)
Go eat snacks together. It could be a euphemism, in all honesty. If you wanted to turn their lunchtime liaisons into something a little more deeply twisted, you could say that Mythra's using Haze for her earnest nature and the presented opportunity to get them before they get you, by grabbing the bull (and flipping off the Blade one). But that would be denying that Mythra is just as earnest a person and participant, eager to live and learn even through her fears and self-defense mechanisms.
Haze giggles. Then, suddenly, she's stormily serious, in a miniature way. "I really do enjoy spending time with you, Lady Mythra."
Earnest again. Mythra's called to genuinity: "Just call me Mythra. Aren't we friends?"
