When you Malose, call that a Maloss
Chapter 01: first base (STABBING)
Chapter 02: second base (KISSING)
Chapter 03: third base (DIVORCE)
In Uraya, Minoth meets a stolid soldier cloaked in violet smoke who seems to have exactly no emotions, and then again every one at once.
He isn't captivated. He's incensed, because the mysterious figure watches soldiers - real soldiers - scrap with orphans for last dregs at market stalls and does nothing. If anything, he laughs.
Once the square has cleared that night, it appears again. Away from Amalthus, Minoth checks his inhibitions. Nothing to lose, really.
Knives drawn, straight for the jugular. The bulky Blade - yes, there, his Core Crystal shines - is stabbing retribution with a flaming broadsword far too quickly for anyone's taste, but certainly for Minoth's.
"You want something, cowboy?"
Sometimes they stay on Indol, to lollygag and philander and all those other harmless words that mean something much different than their usual occupations would suggest, and sometimes they go elsewhere.
Once, they went to sweet, sweet Coeia - not an interpretation of the landscape, of course, but one of the attitudes.
Carefree. Nonchalant. Lovey-dovey, even. Hand in hand. Mouth to mouth.
"I can't believe I wanted to run you through just a few weeks ago."
Before Minoth can wax any clearer on that tangent, Malos has pulled him in, and maybe the wistful wordsmith thinks about...a different connotation that phrase might have.
Malos tastes like motor oil and motive possibilities.
"What, you want me to tell you it's nothing personal, and my daddy just doesn't want me to play with you anymore? Piss off, Malos. I'm telling you, I want you the hell away from me. Get. Lost."
Malos smirks. He's only gotten more cocky, hasn't been truly softened at all by the convalescence Minoth had tried to make manifest for the both of them. "Hell, huh?"
"Don't start."
"Hey, can't start what we're not gonna finish, right? Not like any of this's gonna matter in a year or two."
"What, you think I care?"
"Oh, I'm sure you do. I just know you're not gonna be around to, soon enough."
