Link hitches up the sturdiest knot he knows, ties the rope tight around the fencepost. When the goats get out again, he'll use it to anchor himself, or else get thrown aside with a noisy thud.

"Link?"

There's Colin's idiosyncrasy: bashfully scrubbing the toe of his (girl's, technically) sandal in the dirt.

"Where'd you learn to do that?"

Smiling, Link taps a finger to his chest. From my heart, maybe he means. Less likely, "it came free with my top surgery."

Regardless, Colin's face absolutely lights up. "Yeah? Well, I'm gonna learn too! I'm gonna be just like you, Link!"
