Eunie (Xenoblade Chronicles 3), Sena (Xenoblade Chronicles 3)

Flower Symbolism, Inspired by Art

In a world like this, you really are damned lucky if you find what you're looking for.

Clover is ground cover. Well, that or fodder plant. A natural regulator, abundant and hardy until it poisons itself down through overrecurrence.

Fourtune Clovers are far from the prettiest of Aionios's flowers. Even just nearby in Fornis, the Crimson Moonbloom is, sort of objectively, a far more ornate and delicate blossom. But, those are just common flowers. Worth even less to sell than Swordmarch's Black Blossom, an apparent relic of the old world.

The prize in finding Fourtune Clovers is their rarity. Sena's current posit is that a Fiveluck Clover wouldn't inspire half the same intrigue and folklore, at least partially because none of the City children would ever believe their peer who'd claim to discover it, and such a find certainly couldn't be trusted to the whims of grabbing, grubby hands.

Nothing appears different about the trefoil leaves themselves. There are just more of them - almost like a soldier who'd magically managed to fish out an elusive eleventh term.

Of course, Sena has wondered many a time why someone as unlikely as she had ended up on the legendary team of Ouroboros. Lanz and Taion, she gets. The most determined and cunning tank and tactician in all of Keves and Agnus combined? Sure thing!

But her, a weakling, and Eunie, a common clover?

You'd need to get real close up to a Fourtune Clover in order to see any more intricate pattern, just like you have to get up real close to Eunie to see all her soft edges hidden among the sharp, brash feathers.

Something to believe in. Something to cherish. Something to search for.

Something to admire, not just because you always have, but because when it hits you, that little hush as the treads come to a stop and you count the seconds of unreality, you don't really have any choice but to squinch your eyes shut and save that wonderful memory forever.

It's Aionios, too. There have been dozens, even hundreds of Eunies. The same of Senas. A hundred foul mouths. A hundred eager beavers. A hundred each of various Colony soldiers who fit the same general description.

If, that is, you ignore the fact that Eunie is smart - so, so smart, clever and cunning, whether she's insulting you or aiming for your weak spot. If you ignore the fact that Eunie loves fluffy socks and bright pink hairclips, but also takes a sour, relishing pride in the occasional slash through the sleeve of her leather jacket.

Sena couldn't have found a better bird-shaped hunk of good luck if she'd been looking, so now she looks, looks, looks.

Hopefully Eunie'll take her kisses as so many charms irreplaceable, too.
